Just buy a Scarlet once it comes out. Same quality, much cheaper price. :)

PS ours (latest build) overheated four times outside !! My 435 never misses a beat and I have never had an issue on any Panavision ever – however – that does not mean to say I dislike the Red at all in fact I think it it probably is the future for all of us – but then mp3’s are not even the quality of CD and yet accessibility seems to be more important – and I don’t really care what its shot on so long as it is a good story good acting and well put together !! I rest my case !!

my whole point to begin with is essentially accessibility, but more importantly, price. the amount of money saved when using a D21 is rather significant, which is a far more expensive piece of equipment than the red. your Red overheated four times outside? i’m in regular contact with about 15 dp’s, and have been on many red shoots. i’ve never experienced any over heating – and most of these shoots were last may-july. again, i’m stating my points. from my POV, you don’t know shit.

Rather ignorant to say “I don’t know shit”.I’m pretty much saying that film is better..and in my mind..always will be. There’s something old and textured about it which i personally think will be near impossible to duplicate with digital technology, specifically in processing. The generation gap is a valid point. Roger Deakins states this as being one of the biggest issues with digital – not specifically the cameras- but in processing. You’re missing my point entirely.

Yes you are right and I hereby apologise and will remove my comment forthwith – Thanks for the swift response – I fear that film will be eventually replaced with a digital world in favour of accessibility, speed and cost at the detriment of quality – HI-Fi enthusiasts everywhere I am sure will agree and I of course challenge anyone with a digital camera to take a better picture than one with transparency

I completely agree – it is rather scary to think that this may happen..Especially considering that over the last few years, it seems as though this is a very realistic possibility one day down the road.
