I have no experience in photography whatsoever, and I have absolutely no knowledge of the field of professional cameras. Which is the best SLR camera that I should begin with, and what’s the best place online for me to get an introduction into photography?

Okay…I was taking pictures of moving things using a slow frame rate camera, and the pictures came out like some parts of the moving things weren’t even there…for example after seeing this effect taking a picture of a crazy bouncing ball, I waved my hand in front of the camera and took a flash while my hand was in motion (awfully fast I might add), and my fingers didn’t show up. Did this several times, and was baffled. Is there a reason for this?

i only know a little and i want to expand my knowledge in cameras. what would be a good starting digital slr camera for me? what do you guys think of the nikon d-40? i want something easy and simple yet giving me full controls.
also how do you determine how much zoom the lense can do?

I just bought a used Nikon D50 and the screen has some scratches. Nothing major, just some light scratching that might be buffed out.

I need advice on a good Mac configuration for HD video editing and animation. I am extremly new to the word of photography and want to by a camera. I don’t have the space for a non digital camera to develop the pictures but digital slr cameras cost way more.
I just want to know which would be better for me to learn and if their is an easier way to get one(i tried ebay). I’m a working student and money is not growing on my trees.
