the road was big. i cross the yellow light than it turned red in befor i scape the big gape so I saw bunches of flashes of camera. I dont know if they cught me or not yet. but assuming the penalty in NY.

I sped through an intersection while I thought the light was still yellow (thought I am not sure). While I was driving through the intersection I thought I saw a flash. Do red light cameras flash when they take pictures?
Also, how much would such a ticket cost?

I live in California and recently visited Sioux Falls. I received a $86 fine in the mail that showed a photo of my rental car making an illegal right on red. It seems to me that rather than placing better traffic signs they put in this camera system to generate revenue. What are the legal ramifications of ignoring the fine?

I’ve wondered this since red light cameras went up in my area. If a cop sees you blow the light, and sees the camera get you, will he still pull you over and ticket you? And if so, what happens to the ticket from the camera?
From the answers so far I don’t think I made the question clear. If the camera gets you, AND the cop tickets you too, will you wind up with two tickets for the same offense? Or is there some sort of override where the camera ticket is knocked out of the list when the cop’s ticket is processed?
