As I’m looking at the specifications of today’s top cameras. I’ve noticed that under the Durability and Dependability specification, most of today’s camera have a certain rating for their shutter.
To give two examples:
The Nikon d700 has been tested for 150,000 release cycles
The Canon 5d has the high-torque shutter-cocking mechanism rated to 100,000 shots
To me, that seems to imply that the manufacturers put the shutters through X number of releases when they test the durability of the shutter. Is that correct?
